All the members of the video club were in the film studio of Westlake School. Westlake School 影音社的所有成員都在學校的攝影棚裡。  
It was their first meeting since the club decided to **launch** a new project. 這是社團決定要**啟動**一個新計畫後的第一次開會。

"We are going to make our own movie," said Sally. 「我們要拍一部自己的電影，」Sally 說。

"We'll base it on a story we write ourselves," said Jin. 「我們會以我們自己寫的故事當作基礎，」Jin 說。

"We'll have actors," said Wanda. 「我們會有演員，」Wanda 說。

"We'll have sets," said Julio. 「我們會有布景，」Julio 說。

"We'll have everything," said Talia. 「我們什麼都會有，」Talia 說。

"It is going to be **incredibly** great!" said Sally. 「這一定會**超級**棒！」Sally 說。

The members of the club were very excited. 社團的成員都非常興奮。  
"I think our movie should have episodes," said Talia. "It can be like a TV series." 「我覺得我們的電影應該要有好幾集，」Talia 說。「可以像電視影集那樣。」  
"That's a good idea," said Wanda. "But let's figure out the first episode before we think about any others. The first thing we need is a story!" 「那是個好主意，」Wanda 說。「但在想其他集之前，我們先把第一集弄清楚。第一件需要的事就是一個故事！」  
"I have a story here," said Jin. He took out a notebook and opened it up. "I wrote it this weekend when I was supposed to be raking the lawn. It is very exciting! I even drew a few pictures." 「我這裡有一個故事，」Jin 說。他拿出一本筆記本並把它打開。「我這週末本來應該要去耙草坪，結果我在寫這個故事。它非常刺激！我還畫了幾張圖呢。」

Julio thumbed through the pages of Jin’s story. Julio 用手指快速翻著 Jin 的故事頁面。  
He read it quickly. 他很快地讀完。  
He looked at the drawings. 他看了那些圖畫。  
He liked the story! 他很喜歡這個故事！  
Already he had a clear mental picture of what the movie would look like. 他腦中已經很清楚地想像出這部電影會是什麼樣子。

Julio passed the notebook to Sally, and she started to read. Julio 把筆記本遞給 Sally，她開始讀了起來。

“This is fantastic!” said Julio. 「這太棒了！」Julio 說。  
“It will make a great movie!” 「會是一部很棒的電影！」

“What’s it about?” asked Talia. 「這是在說什麼？」Talia 問。

“It’s a story about a group of kids who go hiking,” answered Julio. 「這是關於一群去健行的孩子的故事，」Julio 回答。  
“They are walking along, very close to a river.” 「他們一路走著，離河邊非常近。」

“Then Pablo falls in!” said Sally, looking up from the notebook. 「然後 Pablo 掉進河裡了！」Sally 從筆記本抬起頭說。  
“He is messing around by the water’s edge. He is running too fast. He trips and falls.” 「他在水邊玩鬧。他跑得太快了。他絆到，跌了下去。」

Yes! He falls right into some deep water. The river is very fast. It washes him downstream," said Julio. 「對！他直接掉進一段深水裡。河水流得很快，把他沖到下游，」Julio 說。

"His friends are all scared," said Sally. "They can't see him anymore." 「他的朋友都嚇壞了，」Sally 說。「他們再也看不到他了。」

"They rush along the shore looking for him," said Julio. "The river has taken him. He washes up against a rock far downstream." 「他們沿著河岸趕緊找他，」Julio 說。「河水把他帶走了。他在很下游的地方被沖到一塊岩石旁邊。」

"That's not all!" added Jin. 「還不只這樣！」Jin 補充說。  
"When Pablo tries to swim out of the river, he sees a bear sitting on the bank." 「當 Pablo 試著從河裡游出去時，他看到河岸上坐著一隻熊。」

"He's stuck," said Julio. 「他卡住了，」Julio 說。  
"He can't stay in the water forever. He's too cold. He can't go out near the bear." 「他不能永遠待在水裡。他太冷了。他也不能從靠近那隻熊的地方上岸。」

"He dips his head underwater and holds his breath. He hides behind the rock. After a while, the bear goes away," said Jin. 「他把頭埋進水裡並憋住呼吸。他躲在岩石後面。過了一會兒，那隻熊就走了，」Jin 說。

"His friends arrive," said Julio. 「他的朋友趕到了，」Julio 說。  
"They pull him out." 「他們把他拉了上來。」

Talia's eyes were wide. Talia 睜大了眼睛。  
Her mouth was hanging open. 她的嘴巴張得大大的。  
Wanda was quiet. Wanda 安靜不說話。

"Wow!" said Talia. 「哇！」Talia 說。  
"That's quite a story. It sure would make a great movie." 「這真是個精彩的故事。一定會拍成一部很棒的電影。」

"I can picture the scene with the bear!" said Sally. 「我可以想像有熊的那一幕！」Sally 說。  
"We could have scary music in the background. The bear can growl and splash in the water." 「我們可以在背景放可怕的音樂。那隻熊可以低吼，還可以在水裡潑水。」

"Pablo should look pale and exhausted when he finally gets pulled from the water," said Julio. 「Pablo 最後被拉出水面時，應該要看起來臉色蒼白、精疲力盡，」Julio 說。

"Yes," said Jin. "That's perfect. Guess what? I already have some ideas for other episodes." 「沒錯，」Jin 說。「太完美了。猜猜看？我已經有一些其他集數的點子了。」

"Jin, your story is great," said Wanda.「Jin，你的故事很棒，」Wanda 說。  
"It would make a great movie. However, there are a few problems.「它會變成一部很棒的電影。不過，有幾個問題。  
First of all, we live in the city!「首先，我們住在城市裡！  
The only wild animals here are pigeons and some stray cats.「這裡唯一的野生動物只有鴿子和一些流浪貓。  
The only body of water is the public swimming pool.「唯一的水域就是公共游泳池。  
So how are we going to make a movie with a river and a bear?"「所以，我們要怎麼拍一部有河流和熊的電影呢？」  

The others looked at each other blankly and scratched their heads.其他人茫然地互看一眼，還抓了抓頭。  

Wanda continued.「Wanda 繼續說。  
"Jin, save your story for Hollywood.「Jin，把你的故事留給好萊塢吧。  
For our video club, I'm afraid it's back to the drawing board!"「至於我們的影片社團，恐怕得回到原點重來了！」

Making Movies **拍電影**

1. A film director decides to make a show.一位電影導演決定要拍一個節目。
